About Ayurveda
In Ayurveda there are 5 elements- space, water, earth, air and fire and they combine into 3 energies/doshas- Vata (air+space), Pitta (fire+water), Kapha (earth+water). These doshas are responsible for a huge variety of things including the choices of food. We all have all 3 doshas but 1 of them is usually primary. When the balance is disturbed by stress, improper diet or other factors, disease will follow. Right diet for your dosha is the key. Ayurveda looks at your dosha and the imbalance to find the root cause of your disease. Each dosha benefits from different foods. Certain foods aggravate the already aggravated dosha and other foods balance it. Ayurveda believes that "You are what you eat".
As well as the diet, lifestyle plays a huge part in our wellness. We are all unique so why should our training plan look the same? Sometimes we can get caught up in physical exercise or a job that is not suitable for us and that might be the cause for our dis-ease. Hard exercise regime might not be suitable for some or little exercise might not be enough for others. Together with exercise, your interests/hobbies and work life also affects your general health.
With Ayurvedic supplements it is very important to know where your remedies are coming from and how pure are they. The outcome of the treatment depends greatly on the quality of it. We use the finest Ayurvedic preparations from Sri Lanka which are carefully selected by our Practitioners, using the traditional Ayurvedic formulations as well as newer recipes suited especially for people living in the West. All products are natural remedies like oils, creams, powders, tablets etc. They are pure and beyond organic. You can also try a classical ayurvedic skin preparation called Shata Dhauta Ghrita made right here in the UK
Ayurveda considers body therapies as important as herbs, diet and lifestyle. One dosha might need more energy when another more calmness to be in balanced state. Therapies such as Abhyanga, Marma therapy, Shiro abhyanga, Pinda sweda are vital practices to remove toxins from the body and mind, enhance the circulation, calm the mind and relieve pain. Different doshas can be balanced with different oils, powders and techniques. While Vata dosha needs more oil for lubrication, Kapha dosha could benefit from powders used on body to eliminate excess dampness. It is important to take the dosha and imbalance into consideration when choosing your therapy.
We have also added Crystal chakra therapy and frequency therapies to our list which are long forgotten ways of healing the body and mind.
